There are many resources available to Young People, Leaders and Parents to help with scouting. Here is a selection of useful links:
- Q: Where do I buy uniform?
- A: The district scout shop helps divert the very small margins on uniform back to the district. The details of the shop and opening times can be found on the district website https://www.stalbansscouts.org/. A key benefit of going to the shop is trying on the uniform – the sizing can sometimes be perplexing, so trying it on is very helpful. Another source is https://shop.scouts.org.uk.
- Q: What uniform items do I need?
- A: A beaver polo shirt and jumper for beavers, cubs polo shirt jumper for cubs, and scout shirt for scouts. Dark trousers should be worn (or shorts in warm weather), and for parades we will ask for more specific trousers than we would for normal activities. When young people are invested we give them a neckerchief, woggle and set of 4 badges that they will keep throughout all sections. Any lost uniform must be replaced by parents at the shop. Leaders will advise on any more specific needs on a per activity basis (waterproofs, walking shoes etc).
- Q: What time do we meet?
- A: Your sections will communicate times and locations of their meetings. If you are unsure you can contact your section via the who’s who email details on our website.
